Ghana coach, Otto Addo has indicated that it will take a lot of work and time to get the senior national team, the Black Stars back to the top.

The 43-year-old made these remarks after his side's 2-2 draw against Uganda in their friendly game in the March international window on Tuesday evening at the Stade de Marrakesh in Morocco.

The Black Stars were hoping to secure a win after losing to Nigeria in their earlier friendly tie at the same venue.

Jerome Opoku and Jordan Ayew scored the goals for Ghana but missed out on holding on to the lead twice with Kotoko’s Mukwala scoring in the game.

Addo’s appointment earlier this month as Black Stars head coach had him tasked with rebuilding the team that crashed out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in the preliminary stage.

Reflecting on the performance of his team, Addo, who is a former Ghana international said the turnaround was going to take time.

“Finishing must be better under pressure. It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of work but I have to say this is what I expected because…we were not good even before I came so it’s a process," he said.

Meanwhile, Alidu Seidu and Mohammed Salisu were sent off in the final minutes of the game.

The Black Stars will now turn their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June later this year.
