It is not the end of the world - Kwame Opare Addo after Hearts of Oak's defeat to RTU

The Public Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak has insisted that they will surely get better in the course of the season despite their opening-day defeat against Real Tamale United (RTU).

Martin Koopman and his charges were stunned by a lone goal at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in the matchday 1 games with Owusu Afriyie scoring the only goal of the game as RTU secured their first three point of the season.

However, Opare Addo speaking in an interview said the club have experienced such a situation before when Samuel Boadu was in charge of the club but ended that season by winning a double.

According to him, they have held talks with the fans and have urged them to stay focused as they hope to end the season by achieving their targets.

"On the day, we don't want to say it was because of the rain. The coach was happy after inspecting the pitch," he told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

"We went into the game but unfortunately, we lost 1-0 and we are not allowing ourselves to be weighed down because of the defeat.

"We have held discussions with our fans because we must not be weighed because there are 33 games we must play.

"We must ensure that at the end of the season, we achieve something for the club. A similar thing happened when we won double with Samuel Boadu so once again, if we have lost our opening game of the season, that is not the end of it," he added.

Hearts of Oak will host Nsoatreman FC on Sunday in the matchday two games at the Accra Sports Stadium and will hope to record their first win of the season.
