It is time to make Kotoko great again- Board member Kofi Abban

Published on: 03 July 2020

One of the newly appointed board members, Kofi Abban, believes that it is time to make Kotoko a great club in the local scene and beyond again.

Kotoko were heavyweights of African football, winning the CAF Champions League two occasions and made the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004, losing to bitter rivals Hearts of Oak after two legs.

The Ghana Premier League holders (24) were named as part of the six CAF 21st century best clubs. Al Ahly, Esperance, Etoile du Sahel, Zamalek and TP Mazembe also made that prestigious list.

In recent times, Kotoko have failed to make an impact in continental competitions. Last season, they were knocked out of the CAF Champions League qualifying round and were subsequently booted out in the CAF Confederation Cup final qualifying round as well.

Mr. Kofi Abban who is the CEO of Rigworld Group, has noted that Kotoko must climb back to the top after a period of poor results.
