It was a great feeling - Samuel Inkoom reacts after making debut in Hearts of Oak defeat to Kotoko

Ghana international defender Samuel Inkoom has expressed his joy after making his debut in Hearts of Oak’s defeat to Asante Kotoko in Ghana Premier League matchday 24.

The Porcupine Warriors inflicted a 1-0 win over the Phobians at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday.

Frank Mbella’s scored a controversial penalty to hand the two-time African champion’s victory.

Inkoom, who recently joined the Phobians on a one-year deal made his debut against his former employers.

The 32-year-old was introduced in the 63rd minute to replace midfielder Gladson Awako in a technical shuffle by coach Samuel Boadu.

After the game, the experienced defender took to social media to expressed his hoy to join the Phobians but said the result was not they expected.

"I’m elated to join Accra Hearts of Oak. The journey began last Sunday when I made my debut in Kumasi and it was a great feeling. The results weren’t what we were expecting but we live to fight another day. Let’s all help to make the GPL a better one. Phobia!", he tweeted in a post.

The ex-Ghana defender had a descent stint with Kotoko in the 2008-2009 season before he parted for abroad.

Inkoom left Ghana in 2009 after assisting Asante Kotoko to a league title win.

Inkoom returned to Ghana earlier this year after 13 years abroad in a bid to relaunch his career.

The right-back played for 11 clubs, including Swiss heavyweights Basel and FC Dnipro of Ukraine.
