Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has revealed adapting to life in Austria from the start was difficult.

The 19-year-old signed for the Austrian powerhouse in 2022 after a very successful first season in the Ghana Premier League with the West African Football Academy (WAFA).

Agyekum disclosed going there during the winter period made it difficult to adjust to the snowy conditions he has never experienced in Ghana.

“The start is always difficult, I went there during the winter season and that was when the snow was falling," he told Radio Gold.

“And playing under the snow is very difficult, your legs will be so cold, your hands, your body so it was difficult for me but as time went on, I got adapt to the weather, I got to adapt to the food and the system of play because there it is very intensive not as compared to the Ghana Premier League."

He won the Austrian league title with Salzburg after making three appearances while also playing for their senior side, FC Liefering, in the second tier.
