It wasn't an easy game against Hearts of Oak - Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay

Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has revealed that his side had to dig deep to beat their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on match day six of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors recorded a 2-1 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium to continue their upward trajectory in the league table.

Justice Blay gave the visitors the lead with a fine header in the 11th minute before Joseph Esso equalised for the Phobians after the recess.

But Naby Keita's late penalty secured the maximum points for Asante Kotoko and Blay, who was named Man of the Match admitted it was a difficult game.

"I will thank God for the strength he has given me, because it wasn’t an easy game. I have featured twice in a game against Hearts of Oak. One in Kumasi and one in Accra. It’s very tough", he said.

"I have to thank my coach for showing us what we can do to achieve the victory."

He has made six appearances and scored two goals for Asante Kotoko so far this season.
