It’s a great privilege for me to take up Black Stars coaching role – Otto Addo

Ghana new coach Otto Addo says it is a great privilege for him to take up the Black Stars coaching role.

Otto Addo has been appointed for a second stint following the sacking of Chris Hughton after Ghana failed to go beyond the group stage at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Ghana international has been handed a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24-months.

He will begin his reign as head coach of the national team during the March international break. Ghana will play Nigeria and Uganda on March 22 and March 26 respectively.

Otto Addo will return to Dortmund after the international break to continue his job with the club until the end of the season.

He is expected to assume permanent Ghana role in May.

"It is a great privilege to be able to take on the role of head coach of my national team. I've already gained a lot of experience in this role as interim coach and I'm looking forward to the task that lies ahead of me from the summer."

Addo's return to Ghana marks his second stint with the national team, following his successful guidance of the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar during his initial tenure.
