“It’s a wake-up call"- Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew on Leicester City defeat

Crystal Palace Jordan Ayew says his side's defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday is a "wake-up call".

Ayew lasted the entire duration of the game as Palace lost 2-1 at the King Power stadium.

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring for the Foxes in the 39th minute of the game before Dewsbury-Hall made it 2-0 six minutes later.

But Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha reduced the deficit for the visitors from the penalty spot in the 65th minute after Ayew was fouled by Youri Tielemans.

"Sometimes it’s hard to explain the style of the game," he said after the game as quoted by the club’s official website.

"It’s a wake-up call, so we need to be consistent and need to work on that. That’s what we’re trying to do; we’ve come out of a very good run and this is a wake-up call.

He added, "The most important thing is it happened today, not next week, so we can build on this and know it’s important to have a good start to the game."
