Ghana Premier League leaders Samartex have expressed their displeasure following the defeat against Nations FC on home turf.

The Timber giants succumbed to a narrow defeat at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Monday morning.

Samartex failed to make their home advantage count following 1-0 defeat to Nations FC, courtesy Nafiu Sulemana’s strike.

The forward fired home the opening goal in the 42nd-minute mark for Kasim Mingle's outfit and with no additional goal, the visitors cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points.

"After delivering such a commendable performance, it's truly disheartening that we couldn't secure at least a point. However, such is the nature of football, and we trust that our supporters will understand. We're gearing up for the next game with unwavering determination. We'll” the club wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Despite the defeat, Samartex are still on top of the Ghana Premier League table with 35 points while Nations FC remains fourth on the table with 30 points.

Samartex will travel to face Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the week 20 of the top flight on Sunday.

Nations FC, on the other side, will host Medeama at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday.
