Hibernian manager Lee Johnson has eulogized Ghana goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot after completing a move to the club this summer.

Wollacot worked under the English manager during his time with Bristol City before they went separate ways.

The Ghana international goalkeeper completed his move to the club on Friday from English Ligue 1 side Charlton Athletic.

Wollacot joins for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal and is expected to play a huge role for the side.

Reacting to Wollacot’s signing, Lee Johnson said, “He’s athletic, brave, and confident and, with big competitions coming up, it’s important we’re strong in the goalkeeping department,”

“He’s a player I’ve known for some time and it’s great to see that he’s starting to fulfil his potential. He now has over 100 games under his belt and has played on the international stage with Ghana.”

Wollacott is expected to provide competition for captain David Marshall ahead of the new season.

The Shot stopper has seen a massive rise in his career since breaking into the Black Stars team. Before making his debut for the national team, Wollacot was plying his trade in the English League 2.

Following an impressive performance, the goalkeeper secured a move to the Ligue 1, joining Charlton Athletic last summer, where he played 20 games.

He will now compete in the Scottish top-flight after completing a move to Hibernian.
