Experienced Ghanaian trainer, Coach J.E Sarpong has indicated that it is important for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to give new Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton a long-term contract.
Last month, the Ghana FA announced that it had settled on the Irish-Ghanaian gaffer as the new head coach of the senior national team.
Speaking to Original FM on the Super Sports Show, Coach J.E Sarpong defended calls for the football association to give Coach Chris Hughton a long-term contract.
According to him, this is vital because that will give the coach enough time to build a strong team.
“It's a good idea to give Coach Chris Hughton a long-term contract because team building takes time,” Coach J.E Sarpong said.
Coach Chris Hughton will be arriving in Ghana on Friday. His official unveiling by the Ghana FA is scheduled to be held on Monday in Kumasi.
For his first assignment, he will lead the Black Stars in the next round of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
