Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has lavished praise on Liverpool's Adam Lallana and has hailed the midfielder's impact on the team in an interview with theMail.

The 28-year-old made a slow start to life at the club when he moved from Southampton to Anfield back in 2014.

However, since Jurgen Klopp took charge of the side, Lallana has started to fulfil the promise he showed when playing on the south coast and has since become a crucial part of the team.

"You can see the hole he leaves."

Despite missing a handful of games recentlydue to injury, the England internationalreturned to the side last Wednesday and put in a man-of-the-match display in the Red's 3-0 win over Middlesbrough where he scored twice.

And whilst his performances this season have earned him praise from many experts, Lallana has arguably received the biggest compliment so far from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Reds legendtold the Mail: "The biggest compliment I can give Adam Lallana at the moment is when he is not in Liverpool's team, you can see the hole he leaves.

"He's been outstanding this season and his performance at Middlesbrough was his best yet, which is why I tweeted he is the hottest English player in the league

"He has always been very skillful and silky on the ball but he is the perfect player for Jurgen Klopp with the way he runs and presses.Lallana has made giant strides in 2016 and long may that continue."

The midfielder will need to be at his best for Liverpool's next match, as they prepare to face Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday evening.

With the absence of star man Philippe Coutinho being felt in the team, Lallana will need to step up once again and help Klopp's side gain all three points as they look to keep in-touch with PremierLeague leaders Chelsea.
