Jamie Carragher Reveals Who He Would Love to See Win Premier League Title if Liverpool Fall Short

Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has revealed he would love to see either Manchester City or Arsenal win the Premier League should the Reds ultimately fall short in the title race.

Chelsea currently top of the league by nine points following their win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Arsenal travelling to City on Sunday and Liverpool making the short trip to Everton on Monday night.

Writing in hisDaily Mailcolumn, Carragher revealed he hopes either Manchester City or Arsenal can finish the job should Liverpool be unable to compete for the title later on in the season.

"If Liverpool do not win the league, I'd love to see City or Arsenal as champions," Carragher claimed.

"I love watching what Guardiola does. I don't care whether he fails or succeeds but I do know that the next three years are going to be entertaining.

"It will be fascinating to see what answers Guardiola looks for to be successful in England. Who knows, we may even learn something!"

This season has seen Liverpool stay in touch with league leaders Chelsea and earn praise for their high-tempo, attacking brand of football, with the club seen as serious competitors for the title for the first time since the 2013-14 season, when Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge nearly fired them to glory.

Manchester City were declared by many as favourites for the title after an impressive start, but defensive weaknesses have since emerged and Guardiola's side are now 11 points behind leaders Chelsea.

Antonio Conte's side have won 11 consecutive Premier League games and will be top of the league at Christmas.
