Japanese Ghanaian goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has officially joined the ranks of Serie A team Parma Calcio 1913, expressing his delight at the new opportunity.

Suzuki, in his first interview with Parma Calcio media, shared his enthusiasm for the club, acknowledging its rich history and global fan base. "I am Zion Suzuki, and I'm thrilled to be a part of Parma Calcio 1913," he stated.

The goalkeeper recognized the significance of playing in Serie A, one of the top football leagues in the world. He pledged to consistently deliver his best performance to contribute to the team's success.

"I know this is a club with a great history, with many fans worldwide, and we will be playing in Serie A. For this reason, I will always strive to give my best and contribute to the team's success," Suzuki added.

Before going professional in 2020, Zion Suzuki had been trained in the Urawa Red Diamonds youth system in Japan.

He participated in all of Japan's youth national teams throughout this time, and by 2022, at the age of just 19, he was a regular starter for the senior squad.

Zion Suzuki played in 32 games in the Jupiler Pro League last season, displaying his athleticism, moral integrity, and technical prowess, all of which have helped to establish him as a prominent player worldwide.

Parma reportedly paid an amount of 7 million euros, with additional bonuses included. Zion Suzuki's contract with Parma runs until 30 June 2029.
