Jayden Addai has praised his teammates for helping him score a hat trick in Jong AZ's Eerste Divisie round two game against Telstar on Monday.

Addai started the game for Jong AZ at the AFAS Trainingscomplex and lasted the full 90 minutes. Goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro played for Jong AZ while Mitch Apau played for Telstar.

"I got a good through ball from Ricuenio (Kewal), saw space in the short corner and knew I had to put it there," Addai described his first goal.

"It was comfortable. I would have awarded the penalty kick to Ro-Zangelo (Daal), but I wanted to make my hat trick and he understood that too.

Due to the hat trick, Addai is currently the top scorer of the Kitchen Champion Division with five goals.

"This is what you want and that's great. But without the team this wouldn't be possible. We have to keep going, because this is only the beginning of the season,"

Jong AZ opened the floodgates in the 23rd minute. After a switch moment, Addai stormed towards the Telstar box. The attacker lashed out devastatingly from the edge of the box and found the top corner to make it 1-0.

After the break, Jong AZ dictated the game in the second half and produced a well-deserved second goal in the 81st minute. Jayden Addai dribbled two defenders on the right flank and fired to make it 2-0.

Telstar pulled one back through Zakaria Eddahchouri. Eddahchouri's goal was assisted by Mitch Apau.

The home side controlled the game and scored a third goal through Jayden Addai. Addai scored from the penalty spot after the referee whistled for a foul.
