Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong returned from injury to score in Bayer Leverkusen's 3-0 win against Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Jeremie Frimpong started the game at the wohninvest WESERSTADION and lasted 81 minutes.

In six minutes, Victor Boniface struck the back of the net after a Granit Xhaka pass, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside decision.

Soon after, a cross from Jonas Hofmann found Bremen player Olivier Deman, but his effort to clear ended up with the ball in his own net in the 9th minute.

The Werkself's dedicated effort was rewarded again at the conclusion of the first half when Piero Hincapie pushed the ball into the box from a corner and Boniface missed the finish. In the 42nd minute, Jeremie Frimpong shot the ball into the top corner at the far post.

Alejandro Grimaldo scored Leverkusen's third goal in the 76th minute. Substitute Amine Adli assisted Alejandro Grimaldo's goal.
