Ghanaian born Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong tells the Betfred Cup Final was the ‘hardest game’ of his entire life so far, despite claiming the first winner’s medal of his short career.

The teenager has broken onto the Scottish football scene in spectacular form ever since moving to Parkhead from Manchester City’s youth academy in September, he was given the nod by Neil Lennon to start against Rangers.

Frimpong was arguably Celtic’s best outfield player in the first-half but his afternoon soon turned into a nightmare when he gave away a penalty in the 64th minute for hauling down Alfredo Morelos and was swiftly shown a straight red card by referee Willie Collum.

To Frimpong’s delight, Fraser Forster saved the resultant spot-kick, and Celtic went on to win 1-0 to win the league trophy.
