Former Anderlecht prodigy, Anıl Koç is urging Belgian-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Jeremy Doku to leave the club whenever the opportunity presents itself.

The current teenage sensation of the Purple and Whites club is wanted by a host of clubs in Europe following an eye-catching campaign in the recently ended 2019/2020 football season.

While it is uncertain whether Jeremy Doku would want to stay at Anderlecht for another season or move away this summer, Anıl Koç has advised the 17-year-old to leave the club.

Having been in the position of Doku in the past, Anil used his story as an example as he shared how he regrets not leaving Anderlecht for Liverpool when he had the opportunity.

"I played for ten years for Anderlecht. When I was sixteen I was wanted by teams like PSG, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. Together with my family I chose Liverpool, where I would join the U19 to progress to the main squad. There was even a five-year contract ready, so everything was fine”, Anil Koç told Turkish Portal Hurriyet. "

He continued, "When I returned to Belgium to pick up my stuff, Standard suddenly hung on the line. They immediately promised me a spot with the first team and a great project, on almost the same conditions. That's why we chose Liège, but after a I got off to a good start and I started having problems.

"The new coach didn't need me and sent me on several lending  turns (to former sister clubs Charlton and STVV, ndvr.) Sometimes I regret not choosing Liverpool”.

Footballghana.com sources say Jeremy Doku is wanted by Liverpool plus a couple of German Bundesliga teams.
