Boateng, 31, sustained a leg injury during the team's clash with Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal final. The Bavarians won 4-2 on the day to clinch the trophy thanks to strikes from Robert Lewandowski (2), Alaba and Serge Gnabry.

“no need to worry that Boateng will be out for a considerable spell, but he will still undergo an MRI scan just to make sure there’s nothing wrong. Bayern’s doctors want to be able to rule certain things out," Flick said after the game.

It is believed that Jerome will be recover for the Champions League fixtures set to be played in August.
