Joe Nana Adarkwa appointed as coach of Ghana's female U-17 national team, Black Maidens

Ghana Football Association Executive Council has announced the appointment of Joe Nana Adarkwa as the new coach of the female U-17 national team, the Black Maidens.

Adarkwa, who currently serves as the head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and as an assistant coach for the Black Princesses, is set to take over the reins from Baba Nuhu.

Joe Nana Adarkwa led Ampem Darkoa Ladies to two Women’s Premier League titles in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

He also won the Women’s FA Cup with Ampem Darkoa Ladies two seasons ago and led them to win Gold at the WAFU Women's Champions League as well as a 4th placed finish in the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League Cote D'Ivoire.

Northern Ladies coach Basiru-Deen Sumani will assist him, while former Asante Kotoko and Ghana goalkeeper Osei Boateng work as goalkeepers’ trainer.

Dr. Maame Antwi-Gyamfi is the team's doctor and Lorraine Arko serves as team nurse.
