Jordan Ayew fires warning to rest of Premier League after first goal of season

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew claims there's more to come from him after scoring his first goal of the season for Crystal Palace in their 2-1 win at Manchester United on Saturday.

Ayew scored in the 32nd-minute latching on to Jeffrey Schlupp's flick-on and coolly converting Palace's first goal of the campaign.

The 27-year enjoyed 75 minutes of action with a scintillating performance before being replaced by Christian Benteke.

Speaking to Palace TV post-match, Ayew said Palace deserves all three points at Old Trafford.

"We are happy; I think we put in a good performance. And now we just need to enjoy the moment because it is not easy to come and win at Old Trafford," the former Aston Villa striker said.

Returning to the line-up after not featuring against Sheffield United on Sunday, Ayew was happy to grab his chance: "I'm a striker, so I'm happy to score; we are all together, me and Christian [Benteke], it's a good competition [between us].

"To come back and score a goal is a good thing for me, but like I said it was to do with teamwork. Got to congratulate the guys for the three points."
