Jordan Ayew stars as Swansea beat Birmingham in preseason friendly

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew was instrumental in Swansea City’s 2-0 win over Birmingham City in their preseason friendly played on Saturday.

The Ghanaian lasted 85 minutes as the Swans intensify their preparations ahead of the English Premier League Season.

The 25 year old was a handful for Birmingham’s defence and created great goal scoring opportunities but the Welsh side failed to bury their chances.

However, on-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham netted his second in three games to open the scoring before the hour mark after volleying home Leroy Fer's cross.

Paul Clement's side doubled their lead with 15 minutes to end the game as provider turned scorer with Fer's deflected strike beating keeper David Stockdale.

The Swans will take on Sampdoria in their final pre-season game before playing as guests of Southampton in first Premier League game of 2017/18 campaign.
