'Jordan Ayew was the best player upfront against Manchester United' - Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has said Jordan Ayew was the best player among his attackers during their game against Manchester United.

The Red Devils inflicted a 1-0 win over Palace last Sunday courtesy Fred strike in the 77th minute on home turf.

Ayew lined up with Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke in Vieira's attacking trio against Manchester United but could not end his goal drought.

He missed a glorious opportunity and subsequently received a backlash from the club’s fans.

But according to Vieira, the Ghanaian forward was the best player upfront for the club despite his miss.

“I believe that our front three could've held the ball better. I think we didn't keep the ball well enough upfront. And I think talking about Jordan, of course he had the big chance of the game and he didn't take it”

“But on the side I think he was fantastic for us today. His work ethic. I think he was the best player upfront” he said.
