Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil's future has been confirmed as he remains with KRC Genk, with Premier League club Burnley deciding not to pursue the winger.

Genk declined Burnley's offer, meaning the 25-year-old Black Stars winger will continue in Belgium. This follows similar challenges affecting potential transfers to Leeds and Southampton in the English Championship.

In addition to Burnley's interest, there were rumors about a move for Paintsil to Saudi Pro League's Al Wahda. Despite the possibilities, it's now clear he will remain part of Genk's squad.

Joseph Paintsil showed his skill during his time at KRC Genk, scoring 17 times in 36 matches, covering the regular Belgium Pro League season and the Championship playoff last term.

The 25-year-old started the current season well, providing two assists in four games in the Belgium Pro League.

Joseph Paintsil is expected to be part of Chris Hughton’s Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying final group match against the Central African Republic in September.
