Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil delivered a standout performance, netting a crucial first-half goal to propel LA Galaxy to a resounding 3-0 victory over San José Earthquakes at Stanford Stadium on Saturday.

The win marks Galaxy's fourth consecutive triumph in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Paintsil, 26, found the back of the net in the 37th minute, capitalizing on a precise assist from Gabriel Pec. His goal gave Galaxy a 1-0 lead heading into halftime, setting the stage for a dominant second-half display.

In the 72nd minute, Dejan Joveljic doubled Galaxy's advantage with a powerful header, converting after Riqui Puig's initial strike rattled the crossbar. The victory was sealed in stoppage time by Mauricio Cuevas, who notched his first MLS goal, securing Galaxy's commanding victory.

Throughout the match, Galaxy maintained offensive pressure with seven shots on target compared to San José's six. Goalkeeper John McCarthy starred with six saves, ensuring a clean sheet for Galaxy against a persistent Earthquakes side.

With this win, Galaxy remains tied for first place in the competitive Western Conference alongside LAFC, both teams boasting 40 points each. Real Salt Lake trails closely behind with 37 points.

Since joining from Genk, Paintsil has been instrumental for Galaxy, tallying six goals and four assists in 17 appearances this MLS season.
