Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Jordan Henderson is still some distance from a first-team return, ruling theLiverpool captain out of the Reds' game against Manchester City and insisting that there is 'no chance' he will be available for England's games with Germany and Lithuania at the end of the month.

The midfielder has missed his side's last three games with a foot injury picked up on the training ground, and now looks like having to wait until April before he can return - with a key Merseyside derby kicking off the month at Anfield.

Quoted byESPN FCafter Sunday's hard-fought 2-1 win over Burnley, Klopp said of his skipper's England chances:"No chance. This two weeks - that's what we hope - can bring him back but there's no game possible in this time. That's how it is.

"He cannot train and, for sure, not play against City. Then I think it makes sense that he is doing the rehab, and hopefully he can run in the week or in the second week of the international break. Then we have to see."

The Germanalso revealedthat Sunday matchwinner Emre Can has been playing with an injury for much of 2017, explaining:Emre is a boy with an outstanding attitude. He had a few problems with his calf in the last few months which we couldn't sort quickly enough because sometimes he had it and sometimes not.

It was really difficult. We had a lot of specialists look at it to try to find out. We couldn't say 'go on holiday for four weeks and see if it gets better', we couldn't do that.It looks like we have found the solution now and he doesn't have the problems any more.
