Jurgen Klopp Heaps Praise on Liverpool Keeper Simon Mignolet After Their 3-1 Win Over Arsenal

Liverpool moved up to 3rd and into the Champions League places after beating Arsenal 3-1 on Saturday and ultimately leapfrogging them in the Premier League. Meanwhile,Jurgen Klopp has been singing the praises of his goalkeeper Simon Mignolet saying that he 'saved our lives'.


The Reds had a very poor game against Leicester when they lost 3-1in their last game before the Arsenal match, so a win was vital for Klopp's team and they duly delivered. The Liverpool manager believes a big reason for their win was the heroics of his Belgian 'keeper.

Speaking toBBC Sportafter the game Klopp praised Mignolet for his contribution in the match:"We knew Arsenal would bounce back in the second half. Alexis Sanchez is the highest quality player and plays different to Danny Welbeck.


"Simon Mignolet saved our lives."


The Belgian has come in for a lot of criticismrecently, especially from Liverpool fans themselvesas he has made a few blunders in past games. However, Klopp's comment shows that he has confidence in his goalkeeper and he knows the top class ability that Mignolet does have.

The heroics of Mignolet helped Liverpool to their 3-1 win and back into the Champions League places, the German also commented on this:"We did really well. We had hard words after the defeat at Leicester. We analysed it and that wasn't enjoyable.


"We had another opportunity and we took it today. It's the rollercoaster of the Premier League.


"It's important to go back to fourth above Arsenal.


"We really felt bad last week, we needed a few days to understand what happened."

Klopp also claimed that it is the best game that his side has played so far:"It was one of the best games we have played so far because of the strength of our opponent."


Liverpool now sit in 3rd place after their victory, however Manchester City have two games in hand on them and sit in 4th on 52 points, the same as Liverpool. The Reds and Mignoletare really going to need to carry on this performance into the rest of the season to finish in a Champions League spot.
