Former President of Ghana John Mahama wants the Black Stars of Ghana to beat Group H opponent Uruguay in the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

Ghana will play Uruguay on 2nd December at the Al Janoub Stadium. This game will be Ghana’s last game in Group H.

In the 2010 World Cup Uruguay eliminated Ghana from the tournament at the quarterfinal stage after Asamoah Gyan failed to convert the penalty after a deliberate handball by Luiz Suarez.

“Unfortunately, we are in a group of death. The teams in our group are the strongest and look at what fate has made, bringing Uruguay into our group again,” he told GFA's delegation

“It will be sweet revenge if we score them and so even if you don’t beat anybody, just beat Uruguay for me and let’s pay Suarez back for what he did to us,”

The Black Stars of Ghana is in Group H with South Korea, Portugal, and Uruguay. Ghana will start their World Cup campaign against Portugal on 24th November.
