JUST IN: Coach Kwesi Appiah leaves Asamoah Gyan on the bench as he pairs Kwabena Owusu with Jordan Ayew upfront

Head Coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah has for the third 3 time in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opted to leave veteran attacker Asamoah Gyan on the bench as he deploys Kwabena Owusu and Jordan Ayew upfront.

The Black Stars will play their final group F match against the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau later today in a crucial game that will decide the fate of the West African Country as far as their progress in the competition is concerned.

Just a point separates the two team at the bottom of Group F ahead of the last round of matches in the preliminary stage.

In a bid to ensure the team bags all three points today, Coach Kwesi Appiah has named what appears to be a strong side with two strikers leading the attack.

The gaffer has also boldly dropped Inter Milan regular Kwadwo Asamoah to the bench following his unconvincing display in Ghana’s goalless draw with defending champions Cameroon in their second match of the tournament.

Trusted goalkeeper Richard Ofori will man the past with a defensive four of Andy Yiadom, Baba Rahman, John Boye, and Joseph Aidoo.

Midfield pair of Mubarak Wakaso and Thomas Partey keep their places in the squad with swinger Samuel Owusu and Andre Ayew set to provide support from the flanks.

Below is the Black Stars lineup for the Guinea Bissau clash:

(4-4-2): Richard Ofori; Andy Yiadom, Baba Rahman, John Boye, Joseph Aidoo, Mubarak Wakaso, Thomas Partey; Samuel Owusu, Kwabena Owusu, Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew.
