Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen has been left in Abidjan following the team’s elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup which has left many fans fuming.

The gaffer after leading his side to record a 1-0 win at home could not complete the work in the away fixture on Sunday evening and disappointingly lost 2-1 as their continental aspirations crashed.

Fans of the club who could not hide their anger attacked the team’s bus at the end of the match protesting for the Norwegian tactician to be immediately sacked.

Following that incident, it was subsequently reported in the Ghanaian media this morning that Coach Kjetil Zachariassen is missing from the team’s camp as they prepare to return to Ghana.

Reacting to the news in an interview with Oyerepa FM, Charles Kouadio who is the agent of the coach has refuted the rumours whiles noting that his client has been asked to stay in Abidjan because his safety cannot be guaranteed when he comes to Ghana.

“Zachariassen is not returning to Ghana with Asante Kotoko.

“Management of Asante Kotoko asked me to tell the coach that they cannot guarantee his safety so he has left to his house in Abidjan”, the agent said.

He continued, “It's not true he is missing but rather Dr. Kyei and Nana Coker told me I should tell him they can't guarantee his safety looking at what has happened and what the supporters did.

Meanwhile, talks of coach Kjetil Zachariassen likely to be sacked has spread like wildfire all over the country.
