President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has arrived safely in Egypt ahead of the Black Stars opening match against Benin in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Ghana is looking forward to making yet another representation at the continental showdown as she continues her search for a 5th AFCON title. The last time the West African Country enjoyed triumph was way back in Libya 1982 when the team lifted the trophy.

As they gear up to play their first match at this year’s AFCON, the first gentleman of the land, President Nana Addo has traveled to Egypt to offer some words of motivation and watch them make the nation proud.

This is in fulfillment of a promise he made the team when they visited him at the Jubilee house prior to their departure to Dubai for their pre-tournament training camp.

Having arrived in the North African Country, President Nana Addo has held a bilateral meeting with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Squirrels of Benin is expected to kick off at 20:00GMT.

President Nana Addo will join several dignitaries at the Ismaily Stadium to watch the cracking encounter.
