Juventus ponder Manchester United man due to Alex Sandro uncertainty

As Alex Sandro’s Juventus future remains somewhat unclear, the club are considering a move for Matteo Darmian of Manchester United as an alternative.

The Brazilian defender very much remains part of Juve’s plans but is now at something of a career crossroads and must decide whether to renew at the Allianz Stadium or opt to depart.

Although an offer was on the table weeks ago for the player for a new deal and there was optimism around it being signed, that has now waned, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, with the offer on the table being worth €4 million net per season until 2022, as opposed to his current contract of €2.8m for two more years.

Juventus are not keen on losing him and it would take an offer in the region of €50m from interested parties such as Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United to tempt them into a sale, but are prepared to bring Darmian back to Italy if Sandro is keen on moving on.

That track had cooled somewhat given the recent Joao Cancelo signing and the fact that Juve’s valuation of €12-€13m is some way off United’s €20-€25m asking price.

The Serie A champions do want to determine what is next for their current left-back before making a decision but are willing to reignite their interest in the ex-Torino man if terms cannot be agreed with Sandro on a new deal.
