Kamal Sowah returns to Leicester City after successful 2-year loan spell at OH Leuven

Ghanaian international, Kamal Sowah is back at Leicester City after bringing his successful loan spell in Belgium with OH Leuven to an end.

Following a successful trial session with the Foxes, the midfielder was signed by the club on 31 January 2018 on a 4-year contract.

The then 18-year-old was subsequently sent out on a 2-year loan spell at OH Leuven to ensure he enjoys regular playing time to continue his development.

Though he endured a torrid first year, Kamal Sowah has been impressive for the Belgian Proximus side in the past year.

After making as many as 25 appearances in the Belgian lower division league, the Ghanaian finished the 2019/2020 campaign with 3 goals and 3 assists to complement his outstanding performances.

With his loan contract with OH Leuven coming to an end, Kamal Sowah has returned to Leicester City ahead of the next football season.

The club has been impressed with his development and has planned to augment their U-23 side with his quality for next season. If he continues to perform at the top level, it is possible first-team manager Brendan Rodgers could hand him minutes in the Premiership or even the Cup competitions.
