Southampton manager Russell Martin says Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is aware he should be producing better numbers in front of goal.

He was critical of the winger’s finishing in Southampton’s fifth round FA Cup 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, with the Saints failing to progress to the quarters.

The ability of Kamaldeen Sulemana with the ball at his feet has never been a problem. It is what he does with it in the end that is big so great.

His manager dug deep into his poor end product after, in the end, what was a thumping defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

“He has a lot of moments that should lead to more – he knows that. He is so talented. I thought he was great against Liverpool.

“He was so disciplined in his position and did a good job out of possession for the team. He had some amazing moments with the ball.”

Kamaldeen Sulemana only has a handful of three assists to his name in 18 games in the English championship.
