The Fire Boys were beaten 2-0 at home- the first time in their continental campaign- by the Ivorians thanks to first-half goals from Gbagnon Anicet Badie and  Braciano Ta Bi.

Anicet Badie scored from the spot in the 24th minute before Braciano Ta Bi doubled the lead few minutes to halftime.

Aduana Stars chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the competition have now been dashed with the defeat to Asec Mimosa.

Kenichi Yatuhashi blames the defeat to their wastefulness in front of goal.

"We played much better and created a lot of chances which we could have scored.

"But, I think we had more chances in general but they were able to score two goals and they went away with that," he said in a post-match interview.
