Austrian defender Kevin Danso marked his official debut for Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday evening when the team lost 2-1 to Hamburg SV on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga 2.
The player who is of Ghanaian descent joined the German lower-tier club this summer on a season-long loan deal from Bundesliga side Augsburg.
Having excelled in pre-season, Kevin Danso today earned a starting role for Fortuna Dusseldorf when the team made the trip to Volksparkstadion to take on Hamburger SV.
The youngster had a decent game with his solid performance at the back. Unfortunately, a brace from Simon Terodde meant that Kevin Danso’s debut ended in a defeat.
On the matchday, defender Matthias Zimmermann scored in added time to give Fortuna Dusseldorf a consolation.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian attackers Kelvin Ofori and Nana Opoku Ampomah also featured for the losers on the day.
