Felix Magath claims that although the veteran midfielder is still crucial for Hertha BSC off the field, his body no longer meets league standards.

The last four competitive games have seen midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng play the majority of his minutes in the Bundesliga this season.

Kevin-Prince Boateng indicated a year ago that his active professional career will finish when his contract expired on July 1st. The midfielder, 36, has stated that he would continue to assist his teammates off the field till the end of the season.

"Physically, he is in a condition that is not made for the Bundesliga," Felix Magath told Sport1

"In terms of personality, Boateng was the most important Player from last season, probably this one too. Later he was important and led the team. He also led the team superbly in the relegation against HSV,"

Hertha Berlin is bottom of the league with 22 points after 29 games.
