King Faisal Public Relations Officer Awal Mohammed says it will be wise for the Ghana Football Association to consider clubs in distributing the $500,000 stimulus package from FIFA.

GFA has received US$500,000 from the world governing body, FIFA for its operational cost in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The disease has affected lots of Ghanaian clubs, with football administrators demanding a share of the stimulus package from the GFA to ease their financial burden.

King Faisal’s PRO Awal Mohammed believes it would make sense if the FA considers easing the burden of the clubs by giving some of the money to them.

"For me, I believe very well that yes, the money paid by FIFA to the FA, is for the FA’s administrative work but the current situation of the clubs here have been very difficult," he told Citi Sports.

"Most of our monies have been matchday revenues, and because of the fact that almost two months now we have not played football in Ghana, the clubs and for that matter King Faisal, in particular, we are finding it very difficult to get some monies to run the club and pay our players.

"So it will only be wise for the GFA to consider in giving some of the money to the clubs so at least it will help us in settling the salaries of the players," he concluded.
