Klopp defends Liverpool penalty flops: Manufactured problem

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has defended his team's penalty problems this season.

Liverpool have missed five of their last seven spotkicks at Anfield and Roberto Firmino notched up his second miss after also missing against Sevilla in the Champions League group stages.

Firmino remains their designated penalty taker and Asked if Liverpool practise their penalties, Klopp said: "(We work) A lot, its unbelievable. The boys pretty much after every session, there are still four or five of them who think they should take them. They try and they do it. They are really good at it.

"Roberto is one of this group after training, he probably still will be. He had scored before, a fantastic goal, was in a good mood so it was logical for him to take it. Two inches from a fantastic penalty or a missed penalty, it's really not cool but it's the way it is.

"We can make it bigger or we can accept it as part of the game. These things happen and will still happen in football.

"We had this last year when Millie scored it felt like 50 and then against Southampton he didn't score, a very important one to be honest.

"It's how I said, it's not a real problem. You can make a problem of it but we still have players out there who are able to finish a situation like that from 11 metres."
