Klopp relief over Watford\'s late missed chance

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his relief at his side's hard fought 1-0 victory over Watford.

Liverpool boosted their hopes of finishing in the top four this season by claiming a 1-0 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night but it has to be said that the Reds had to work extremely hard in order to earn the three points from the encounter.

Watford did put Liverpool under immense pressure late on into the game in search of the equalizer and manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is relieved at his side thwarting the Hornets' attack to claim the vital win.

Klopp said: "I said to the boys after the game, 'If you want to kill me, that's a good way to try.' It's crazy, it's crazy, [it gave me] 500 million grey hairs.

"The situation tonight, we'd already defended it and then they had three players at the second post. What can you say? We tried everything for 97 minutes, but if you want [we made] this one mistake and it could've led to a goal – that's how football at the highest level is.

"We didn't play perfect, but it would've been really hard to accept. But we got them [the points] and I think the boys really deserved it."
