Koeman: Everton \'close\' to signing Swansea playmaker Sigurdsson

Ronald Koeman has revealed Everton are close to signing Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic midfielder has been the subject of two failed bids from the Toffees and Leicester City so far this summer, with the Swans holding out for an offer of £50m.

Speaking after Everton's draw with Sevilla on Sunday, Koeman said the club were close to finalising the deal, as he reiterated their need to sign at least three more players before the transfer window ends this month.

"Everybody knows we are looking for three more players - a left centre-back, a left full-back, a player who can play out of both positions, a winger and a striker and that's the picture, what the best is for our team and we will see what we can do," Koeman told Sky Sports.

"We are close [on Sigurdsson], we have to wait. But still, the deal is not done.

"We know the transfer window is at the end of this month and we have time, that means for everybody."
