German-born Ghanaian forward Daniel Kofi Kyereh has expressed his satisfaction after making Black Stars debut on Friday at the Cape Coast Stadium in the 2022 World Cup qualifier opener against Ethiopia.

The 25-year-old St. Pauli forward made his debut when he was introduced into the game in the 28th minute as a replacement for the injured Jeffrey Schlupp.

Schlupp suffered a suspected hamstring injury early in the first half of the match and was taken off to be replaced by the German-born Ghanaian forward.

"I am happy and proud about my debut and the win," he wrote on Instagram.

"I wanna give thanks to all Ghanaians who supported us, to my amazing teammates and staff and to all the @ghana_fa_official for welcoming me with open arms and making it easy for me to play my first game for the Black Stars.

"Thank you all and all glory to God!."

The St. Pauli forward was handed a late call up after Sturm Graz striker Kelvin Yeboah snubbed Ghana and decided to play for the Italy U-21 national team.

He has been in very good form for lower-tier German side St. Pauli since the start of the 2021/2022 season.

Kyere has scored once and provided 3 assists in 5 appearances for his side in the German second-tier league.
