Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako has opened up on the performance of Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The two most glamourous clubs in Ghana have had a torrid season and would have to play above themselves to clinch the title at the end of the season.

Kotoko are 4th on the table whiles Hearts of Oak sits 5th spot but are tied on 42 points each.

In an interview with Footballghana.com, Amoako, who is currently the goalkeepers coach of fellow GPL club Nsoatreman FC expressed displeasure about the performance of both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

“Kotoko is my former team so I do monitor their progress but if you look at their performance this season, you will rate them like any middle team in the Ghana Premier League”

“Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are always tipped to be at the top but looking at their performance this season especially, Kotoko, it is no encouraging. Kotoko’s performance have been on and off and I think this season has not been good for them”

Hearts of Oak were humiliated in their matchday 28 fixture against Tamale City. The Ghana Premier League debutants inflicted a 4-1 win over the Phobians on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will take on Great Olympics at the WAFA Park in Sogakope in the week 28 fixture on Thursday.
