It has emerged that Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer [CEO] Nana Yaw Amponsah is on a Ghc40,000 monthly salary.

Following his appointment as the CEO of the club replacing George Amoako on a three-year mandate, it was reported that the young enterprising football administrator is on a Ghc25,000 monthly salary.

Further reports also claim that Nana Yaw Amponsah has 5 per cent cut all new sponsorships brought in under his auspices.

But following the chaos at the camp of the team in Sudan ahead of their second game of the preliminary round game against Al Hilal that has been called off, Footballghana.com understands the CEO takes home Ghc40,000 as monthly salary.

He also takes a cut of 10 per cent of all the sponsorships.

Kotoko players threatened to boycott the game if their unpaid entitlements are not paid. The management quickly moved to settle the unpaid salaries to avoid embarrassment.

The former Phar Rangers boss has been under pressure following the uninspiring performance of the club in the ongoing Ghana Premier League and their African campaign.

Kotoko players have demanded to hold a meeting with the Board of Directors when they return to Ghana due to the leadership style of Nana Yaw Amponsah as the CEO of the club.

The Porcupine Warriors game against the Sudanese side Al Hilal was called off after Kotoko players and officials tested for Covid-19 cases.

Kotoko will now play in the Caf Confederations Cup after CAF declared Al Hilal as 2-0 winners of the game.
