Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Barreto has requested for a crisis meeting with Manhyia Palace if possible.

A report filed by Kumasi based Pure FM indicates that the Portuguese manager who has been feeling disgruntled for some time now has engaged the Board Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei.

The engagement with Dr. Kyei was to discuss certain developments bordering on the club that is of huge concern to him and his continual stay there.

The report further indicates that during an engagement with Dr Kwame Kyei, Barreto requested to meet the Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace and put forward his concerns to him.

Barreto has then requested to be given audience by the Asantehene, Otumofur Osei Tutu II who is the Life Patron and Owner of the club.

Sources say the coach is disappointed in the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led management over unfulfilled promises.

The failed promises range from unpaid salaries and unpaid bonuses.

Barreto, who is a former Black Stars coach was appointed as the head coach of the Ghana Premier League giants prior to the start of the second half of the 2020/21 season, replacing Maxwell Konadu who was sacked in December after losing Great Olympics.
