The lower-tier club on Thursday morning lost 6-1 to the Premier League giants in a pre-season friendly match at the Adako Jachie grounds.

Speaking to Ashh FM in an interview after the match, Achiken FC head coach Stephen Adjei has stressed that his team only lost by the huge goal margin because they have not been training.

“No team has scored me six goals in my professional coaching career, Kotoko has done that. We have not trained since the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemics because we did not have access to our players so before the match this morning we called each player from their various homes, gathered them to play the game.

“If not for the Covid-19 pandemics there is no way they would have scored us six goals, even though they would have scored us but it will not be up to six goals”, the coach noted.

Kotoko’s win today means that the team has 3 wins and 1 draw from the pre-season friendly matches they have played.
