Asante Kotoko legend Eric Bekoe has revealed fans of the club described him as a cripple when he scored for Berekum Chelsea against Hearts of Oak on his return to the Ghana Premier League from Egypt.
The fans expected him to sign for Asante Kotoko instead of Berekum Chelsea, but he said they didn't know he was disappointed by then management that is why he joined the Bibires.
Bekoe revealed it was when he scored for Berekum Chelsea against Hearts of Oak that he was described as a cripple by Asante Kotoko fans.
"When I caught Hearts of Oak there and I gave it to them, some Asante Kotoko fans were shouting this cripple has scored against you, he can’t score us meanwhile I was their legend," he told Joy Sports.
"I was part of the people that gave them happiness during that time but I’m not saying all the Asante Kotoko family but some of them.
"I foresee that they were hurt without knowing inside information of the issue itself.
"So when Asante Kotoko were coming to Berekum to play against Berekum Chelsea I was sick throughout the week and everybody was like oh he is faking and all that."
