Kotoko has been impressed with the work of Kjetil Zachariassen - George Amoako

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako has revealed that the club has been impressed with the work done by new head coach Kjetil Zachariassen in the short time he has been in charge.

The former Ashanti Gold manager replaced Chares Kwablah Akonnor at the club last month and has been tasked to prepare a formidable side that will do battle in the upcoming CAF Champions League competition.

Since taking charge of the Porcupine Warriors, Norwegian tactician has played two friendly matches against Rahimo FC and Société Omnisports De L’Armée. The team is yet to lose a match under him and has won and drawn one match respectively.

Speaking in an interview with Light FM, George Amoako has shared that Kjetil Zachariassen has been impressive so far though he needs to be given time to exert his philosophy on the team.

“The coach [Zachariassen] needs ample time to set his philosophy on the team”.

“He has played just a match and by our assessment of that game, we were impressed so I think we are on the right course”, he said.

Ahead of Kotoko’s opening match in the CAF Champions League against Kano Pillars, George Amoako has assured that the necessary measures will be put in place before they head to Nigeria for the first leg.

“We have taken note of the necessary needs of the players as we travel to Kano next month”.

“We have ordered for the right boots to acclimatize to the AstroTurf and the weather”, he added.

The first leg of the match between the Ghanaian giant and the Nigerian side will be played on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
