Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Kjetil Zachariassen is hopeful of working with striker Songne Yacouba who joined his mates after a long absence due to injury.

However, it seems unlikely the striker will be available for selection, the striker did light training as his team intensify training at the Adako Jachie ahead of their second encounter of 2019/20 CAF champions league preliminary round with Kano Pillars this weekend at the Baba Yara stadium.

Speaking on having the striker back into the team, the gaffer said, he prays the Burkinabe will win the battle with his injury soon for him to be assessed.

"Everybody talks well about him [Songne Yacouba]"

"So we hope he can get fit because he has some injury problem. He's just running at the moment, we will check on him. let's see how things work out for him."

The 27-year-old has had a lot of controversies during the summer as he was optimistic of a possible departure from the porcupine warriors but none of the deals met the price tag slapped on him.

Yocouba, who had been away from his team since July amended his departure issues with the club's management after a query letter was issued to him asking why he was absent during pre-season, which he replied with an apology and readiness to stay with the club.
