Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Dauda Mohammed believes that the Ghana Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues on the continent.

Dauda’s comments come after the recent debate between the Minister and the Football Association regarding the attractive nature of the Ghana Premier League.

According to the Kotoko striker, no club now boasts of having the best of players since the quality materials in the system are evenly shared.

“Our local scene has transformed from the days when Kotoko and Hearts had monopoly over the best players in the country to a more universal tenure where players are evenly shared” said the young attacker.” Dauda told the official club website.

“Kotoko and Hearts dominated the Premier League until the 2009-2010 season, when Aduana Stars, then considered as outsiders broke the cycle. Berekum Chelsea, another outsider, won it the following season. Kotoko won it thrice on the row before AshantiGold claimed it last season.

“The current season is ongoing with another outsider Wa All Stars topping the table though Kotoko, Hearts and Aduana Stars are in contention. “That is how our league has become. The smaller clubs have become very competitive. It’s good for Ghana football. The good thing is that Kotoko have prevailed. We know our stature and know that we still have to rise above the challenge”. He added.
